London, November 13 2007 - Condé Nast Johansens, publisher of international luxurious hotel guidebooks, has named Bled’s Golf Hotel the 'best resort hotel in Europe and the Mediterranean' 2007. The Golf Hotel was selected on the basis of guests’ recommendations and ratings by independent inspectors who, in addition to hotel services, also rated the attractiveness of the resort the hotel is in.

Renowned publishing house Condé Nast Johansens has been publishing guidebooks to hotels, resorts and congress venues, aimed at demanding guests seeking top-quality services and comfort, for twenty-six years. The Golf Hotel, part of Sava Hoteli Bled, was last year the only Slovenian hotel to make it into the 'Recommended Hotels & Spas' guidebook to Europe and the Mediterranean, while this year it has received the prestigious excellence award in the 'best resort' category, one of eleven categories rated. The award

was given to the Golf Hotel at a gala dinner on November 12 at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower hotel in London, at which also the new guidebooks for 2008 were launched.

He adds “The competition was hard, as all three other hotels in this category – one of which had won the award last year – are top hotels in well-established resorts. Therefore we are sure that the exceptional attraction of Bled helped the assessors to make their final decision”.

The winning hotels were chosen on the basis of guest recommendations and comments, as well as reports by regional inspectors, who work for Condé Nast Johansens around the globe. In addition to service quality, friendliness of staff and value for money, guests and inspectors also rated the attractiveness of the resort where the hotel is located for the award for best resort hotel.

Condé Nast Johansens publishes six diverse guidebooks a year, in which over 1300 independent hotels from 67 countries are outlined. Their more than 50 highly-trained inspectors boast many years of experience in the hotel business and annually visit over ten thousand hotels, of which a tenth of the best are selected, which are included in their guidebooks and thus the best selection of accommodation options for the modern traveller is ensured.
